My life in a nutshell

Before I start I want to say that I will be giving everyone fake names. I am not trying to start drama with this blog. I am just pretending its a secret diary that is online where whoever wants can read. Maybe my life stories and thoughts on things will entertain and/or help others.

I have 2 older brothers. Sadly I’ve never met them before. I have and Irish twin sister, and she is one of my closest friends. I have 2 younger brother. They are both punks, but I love them a whole lot. Lastly I have 3 younger sisters. The oldest of the three is really hard to get along with, but the other two are pretty fun.

I love and respect my mom so much because she took care of all of us (except my two older brothers) by herself. She even homeschooled us up until I started Highschool. Because it was hard having us go to public school and moving every couple years. My “dad” wasn’t really around when I was younger because of work, and when he was home the snow on the TV was more important to him.

Highschool was somewhat difficult for me. 9th grade was so so I was extremely shy, and it took me months to make friends, but my graded were good. 10th grade was chill until I moved out of state in the middle of the first semester. My new school was so much bigger, and scarier. My grades dropped a little because that school was so much harder. Their finals were as intense as the SAT tests. 11th grade was bad. I made bad friends, my grades dropped, and my emotions and mental state was a mess.

12th grade was stressful. After a week into the school year I moved out of state and back to where I use to live (“dad” stayed there living with my Nana, and we only saw him once sinse. He didn’t tell any of my siblings happy birthday or anything) . I started at a new school, and I was behind on graduating so I had to take online classes, and my second semester I went back to the Highschool that I went to when I was a Freshmen. I ended up not being able to graduate like I was promised I would. I had to do summer school and I graduated with my credits messed up still. I met the most amazing people that year though so I’m not complaining.

I thought that after Highschool life would change, and I’d be doing what I wanted to do. That’s not what happened at all. My family is broke so Mom can’t afforded to pay for me to go to school, and while I was in Highschool I wanted to focus on that so I didn’t have a job or money. It was hard to get a job because I didn’t have a car, and I can’t get a car if I don’t have a job. I was stuck in that limbo for a while, but when I finally got a job she drove me to work and picked me up everyday. After a couple months I quit that job because I was planning on joining the Army. That didn’t workout so now I’m back at where I started. No job, little money, and no car. To top that all off we are getting kick out of your house because our landlord wants to sell it, and our lease isn’t up till 6 more months.

So now I am trying to figure out how to make my dreams a reality, and how I’m going to get a job without a car so I can get a car, move out, and start living my life how I want to.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
